There are songs, and then, there are classic songs. Songs come, and songs
go. You hear a song, and it somehow reminds you of something you once
knew, but strangely may have forgotten. Music takes you to places, you once
may have visited, and maybe never thought you’d ever go back, but then, that
old familiar medley comes along, and you’re transcended back into time, to
what once was. Hence it is with the old songs, the “classics”, if you will. Songs
have a way of drifting into obscurity, but there are some, that have such a
powerful message, that we relive their message over and over again, each
time we hear it once again. I remember hearing Why Me Lord, as a senior in
high school; I remember hearing my dad and others singing Drifting Too Far
From The Shore; and I guess I’ve heard at least a hundred versions of all
these old bluegrass greats, but I don’t think they ever get old, they just get
I never would have dreamed that God would allow me THE blessing of doing
my forth CD! I give Him all the praise and glory, and it’s my wish, that through
the music, you would draw closer to Him. To Tom, Todd, and Dave at
Flat 5 Press, you guys are THE greatest! A special thank you to Dave
McDonald, for always being there for me. Once again, a huge THANK YOU
to Big Mamma Recording Studios for the music. To my friend Bob
Schamerhorn at Infinity Graphics, thanks for all you do to make me “look”
good. Thanks to my old friend Mark Hubbard for the pictures on this CD. To
my brother in Christ Billy Witt, for always listening to my ideas and trying to
understand exactly what I’m trying to say, even when I don’t know how to say it.
Thanks to all the churches and organizations who allow me to come sing,
you’ll never know how much YOU bless ME. Thanks to my home church, Trinity
Baptist in Bedford VA; to my Board of Directors; my Buddy Keith Campbell at
WBLT-1350 AM in Worlds Best Little Town; to my wife Cheri, my daughter
Geri, and to all the folks who pray for Rick Dellinger Music Ministries.
